I am always reading books and this book is great. It spoke to me on so many different levels. You are a wonderful writer. In a few scenes you made me feel the main characters exact emotion and my eyes just welled up with tears. You are able to capture your reader and pull them into the storyline as if they were living it as well. I see a bright an beautiful future for you. Bravo. Bravo.
This novel is a must read for anyone that is human and has a heartbeat. It is superbly written and an intoxicating read. The characters are compelling and believable making this a page turner. It is emotionally engaging and makes you think. It is the first novel that I have read that gives insight to alternative methods of healing the human psyche and it is wonderfully done. This novel hits the mark in establishing Kymberle Joseph in the literary world. It is a story to share with those you love, and even those you hate!
You are an amazing writer!! It was very emotional for me. I felt like I was reliving part of my past. You dealt with topics that I have a hard time dealing with, abuse, therapy and understanding. Great job on your first book, I wish you continued success.
Pieces of a Story by Kymberle Joseph was therapy for me. Anna the protagonist in the story, on the outside was strong, smart and together. Everyone thought she had it all, but on the inside she was yearning to be loved, held, for that attention that you go else where to find. Anna was unable to love due to her past--her childhood. She found herself through therapy. You will follow her through her triumphs and her lows. You will learn in time loving yourself is very important to your interaction with the world.
"Pieces Of A Story", by Kymberle Joseph......Where to even start. I actually finished this last night, or rather early this morning about 5am. I didn't do my review then like I normally would. This book sent me on a journy of my own. No, I was never abused physically, sexually or mentally. But, like everyone, I had my share of 'man issues'. Issues I don't think I bought full closure with.
In reading this story of her strong characters and their own issues, it made me look deep inside. Her poetry within the novel was awesome. It was it's own work of art. Perfectly written if I may say so! I especially loved how she showed the history of her main character Anna without making it boring at all. She made you WANT to find out how she lived, how she survied the turmoil of living with an abuisve step-father and an ingornant mother. Kymberle showed how love of a neighbor, love a sister, love a friend can pull anyone through the hardest of times.
She also shocked me with a twist. Now, I'm no 'Matlock' or 'Perry Mason' but I'm normally pretty good at figuring out what was about to happen before I got to it, even if I didn't know the end result. Yet, she threw one, no, two surpises in there on me. Had me going back to see what did I miss. It was a very well told story. A story to share with all your friends, espically if one may be having some sort of problems and need a touch of encouragement.

Anna Harper and Dupri Haynes seem to be a happy couple. Dupri's sister Zoe, Anna's friend and co-worker, introduced Dupri a financial advisor and Anna a schoolteacher. It was love at first sight. The two couldn't get enough of each other.
Dupri believes in long marriages and wants to be the perfect partner, so after Anna moved in with him, he gives himself unselfishly to her hoping theirs would be a long lasting relationship resulting in marriage and children.
Anna also wants this too, but she has serious issues festering inside her threatening to lead her to a nervous breakdown.
Anna's childhood was turbulent at best. With abuse entering her life at the age of five thru her teenage years. Telling her mother only fell upon deaf ears because Veronica Clarke her mother, felt the only thing that mattered was that Anna and her sister October had food and a roof over their heads.
Now that Anna was is in her thirties the secrets and lies that she kept hidden threaten to ruin her relationship with Dupri.
Will Anna open up to Dupri and tell him the truth about her past or will she continue to push him away...
A powerful story written by Kymbele Joseph which tells of a woman fearful of opening up and facing the demons of her past. Fearful of being a mother, not wanting to duplicate her own mother...Fearful of the reactions of others.
Pieces Of A Story is a moving drama guaranteed to keep your eyes glued to the pages. Although the story deals with real issues, author Kymbele Joseph's playful style of writing kept the story from becoming too depressing.
The relationship between Anna and her father could have been given more clarity and there were a few glitches with the editing.
Overall this is a great read and I couldn't put the book down until I was finished. I would definitely read this author's future works.

Yes, I agree with the other reviews that this was a good read however, this book is in need of some serious editing!
